As a Company that encourages involvement in Social Inclusion projects, Ashleigh are proud to be sponsoring the River Nith Dragon Boat Festival 2009. The past year has seen a significant change at Ashleigh where they have moved from a roughly equal split between public and private work to a current position where the bulk of the activities are in the pubic sector with an emphasis on funded projects such as social housing, schools and healthcare. This positive pro-active approach to business challenges over the last two years has allowed Ashleigh to achieve a sustainable level of turnover. A key element in the Ashleigh approach to all projects the company undertakes, is the implementation of a social inclusion policy, in which they seek to work with communities whilst engaging in bettering the local environment. This policy extends from meetings with residents, local interest groups and elected members, to sponsoring local football teams, schools and other local events like this one. BDS is a company that supplies electronic information about new releases in publishing and the home entertainment sector to libraries, retailers, e-tailers and other organisations interested in buying and selling books, DVDs, music and computer games. Established in Dumfries in 1995, BDS employs 50 staff, most of whom are based in Dumfries. The staff of BDS admire and support the work which the Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla undertakes, and they are proud to be the sponsors of this event.
